There is a time everyone is waiting for. Beautiful weather, moments spent with your loved ones, the peaceful atmosphere of the holidays has the power to attract good memories. The Szczecin Philharmonic Big Band will definitely provide you with them. The most popular music standards, swing and film music arrangements will flow from the symphony hall on Thursday, August 12th at 7.00 p.m
The ensemble was founded in September 2017 on the initiative of Igor Pushkar, a trombonist in our orchestra. The band consists of the well-known musicians of the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra (Igor Puszkar – trombone, Mateusz Kupski – trombone, Wojciech Bublej – trombone, Oleksija Haritonov – trombone, Sławomir Kuszwara – trumpet, Marcin Olkowski – trumpet and Wojciech Gunia – bass) excellent colleagues from the Szczecin and Poznań music circles enter. There are the lecturers, but also students of music academies in both cities.
All the musicians were united by passion, willingness to make music together, broaden the repertoire, and at the same time the possibility of working together, which gives satisfaction and fun.
The repertoire of the Philharmonic Big Band includes jazz standards and compositions by J. Gray, D. Ellington, A. Sandoval, and H. Mancini.
